  • Writing on Paper

    Writing on paper sucks.

This may be a pretty common opinion shared by people from my generation, but my reasons for my hatred of writing on physical paper are a little different.
I am left handed, and writing with my left hand is a huge pain in the ass.
I constantly get graphite on my hand, I can’t use notebooks properly because those stupid little binding rings dig into my hand whenever I try to write, and whenever I sit in one of those stupid desks with the built in tables at college, I have to bend over uncomfortably.
This is a pretty big problem, and barely anything is being done to address it.

So what can be done to fix this?

    • Adopt a better writing system like Arabic or Hebrew which writes from right to left.
    • Ban those idiotic desks.
    • Enforce left handed writing in schools.
    • Move more away from requiring physical paper in schools/colleges/wherever and just embrace turning stuff in digitally.

  • The Theme

I finally got around to publishing the theme for this website. I’m calling the theme “Scula” (A mix of Sen and Dracula) (very creative).
The repo for the theme is here and the RubyGems page is here.
I’m not really sure if I’ll update it any more as there isn’t really much to change.

  • Things Didn't Go as Planned

A few days late, but I was working on other stuff and didn’t really have the time to write about this.

The keyboard is probably screwed. I didn’t realize that my soldering iron was as screwed up as it was and I ended up ruining the keyboard PCB when replacing the capacitors, which kind of sucks since I don’t have another PS/2 keyboard.

I got a new RTC chip for the computer though. It still gives a clock error on boot and says I need to press the F1 key (which I can’t do since no keyboard), but at least replacing the chip seems to have stopped the loud and annoying beeping it kept doing before though, so that’s an improvement.
